Happy Ending?

Happy endings, an illusion most indulge in.

Who has told us it will end in fantasy?

Who has told us it will all work out?

Who has told us that it is all meant for a reason?

The bitterness of life is sour and could only be indulged upon bitter encounters of reality.

We excuse today's mistakes because we say, we will have a happy ending.

An ending we are ignorant about.

Who has the needle to pop the illusion?

God has laid before us the consequences of our mistakes

and the consequences of the mistakes of those before us.

We may choose the in between but we may not choose the end.

Take charge of the legacy you will leave behind and make it worth, time.

At the end you may have a happy ending, as few have.

At the end you may die a bitter death, as many have.

Whichever way it may go, at the end,

make it count.

For it's not just about how it ends but the in between that counts.
